What Can I Expect During My First Visit?
Patient Forms
Upon entering our office one of our caring receptionists will greet and welcome you as a member of our family. We request that you complete the new patient forms located in the forms section. The paperwork provides us with general information about yourself and your condition. The health information needs to be filled out completely to allow our doctors to correlate the information in order to accurately determine a proper diagnosis. This will allow us to put you on a specific action plan to increase healing time.Consultation
Following the paperwork you will immediately have a consultation with either Dr. Ruggiero or Dr. Anderson to discuss your health related problems, concerns, as well as potential options. Your first visit is designed for the doctors to learn more about you, your condition, and your expectations to determine whether chiropractic care will meet your goals.
Examination
Following your consultation a complete chiropractic, neurological, and orthopedic examination will be performed in order to properly determine what is the true underlying cause of your problem.
X-Ray Studies
If necessary your specific condition may warrant x-rays to get a complete view of exactly what is happening with the bones of your spine, your joints and your disc spaces. We will utilize our state of the art digital x-ray machine using high speed low exposure for your protection. These x-rays will also help to rule out more serious conditions and assist us in developing the most effective treatment plan for you. Most people are often amazed once they see their x-rays and they can often immediately identify their misalignments and degeneration.
Report of Findings
Once all the information has been gathered and studied Dr. Ruggiero or Dr. Anderson will report to you one-on-one, their findings and answer all your questions, concerns, and your goals. If they believe they can help you, they will recommend a treatment program that fits your needs. If they are unable to help you with your particular condition they will recommend someone who can help you. Here are some common questions that will be addressed:
1. Can you help me?
2. How long will it take?
3. How much will it cost?
Treatment
Generally following the report of findings treatment will be given. The type of treatment depends upon your condition. Everyone is different, your treatment plan will be designed according to your needs. The common types of treatment are spinal adjustments, manual therapies, neuromuscular re-education, electrical muscle stimulation, intersegmental traction, ice, heat or therapeutic exercises.
